so far this laptop handles photoshop just fine and its an excellent laptop for overall use. This plays games alright and i have been doing a lot more media production work lately.

The only concern I have with the horizontal Henge Dock is the electronic docking/undocking feature it has, I don't want to have him invest a good chunk of money on it and it end up failing, the vertical offering has no electronic parts, however appears to not have as many outputs as the horizontal, though that may never be an issue, that being said, I don't want to have the money spent on something that will be at capacity right off the bat.Hi there! i currently use a dell laptop from 2012 with 8gb ram, dual core i5 3210, gt 630m and samsung evo 840 ssd. Is the Henge Dock the way to go, or are there other brands that are "better"? The docked vs undocked usage will be fairly even, so the disconnecting / reconnecting to the dock will have to be fairly straight forward/easy. He will be using an external monitor, keyboard/mouse, document scanner, laser printer (though he may end up getting a networked printer), and possibly other accessories down the line. The only system he has is a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 15", I need to find a docking station / port replicator for him, however as I don't play with the Apple eco-system much, I am not sure what is or is not the best route to go.įrom what I can see, Henge Docks seem to be fairly well regarded, I was going to suggest he go with the Horizontal Dock offering that they have.

I have a customer that is currently is working in an office of which he has a desktop with all the normal accessories (keyboard/mouse/monitor/printer), at the beginning of the year he will be transitioning to a home office, and that setup will not be going with him.
